Wider Sea started as a one-person business and is now ready to grow into a small, focused team.
Its purpose is simple: Creating Ships Together.
This means working closely with ship owners, yards, naval architects, and technology partners to develop solutions together, by listening first, understanding real challenges and facilitating effective cooperation among all the parties involved.
What you will do
Your focus will be to develop and manage relationships across the Dutch maritime industry.
Your role includes:
- Building relationships with shipowners, shipyards and naval architects
- Listening carefully to understand each client’s technical and commercial needs
- Explaining complex technologies in a clear and practical way
- Coordinating communication between clients and our partners
- Taking ownership of your activities, priorities and commitments
This is a hands-on role, close to clients and real projects. It is not about aggressive sales or polished pitches but about becoming a trusted partner who delivers real value through technical understanding, reliability and follow-through.
Our goal is not to sell more equipment. It is to help our clients make better technical decisions. When we do that well, business follows naturally.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR
Communication & mindset
- Excellent written and spoken Dutch, comfortable working in an international environment and communicating confidently in English
- Strong listener, clear and respectful communicator
- Curious, open, and people-oriented
Commercial & technical base
- Genuine interest in ships, maritime technology and the people behind them
- An understanding of, or genuine curiosity about, how the maritime industry works
- Technical education is a strong advantage
- Business education is a plus
Way of working
- Organised, pragmatic, digitally confident and reliable
- Comfortable taking ownership and working independently
- Happy to work in a small company
Experience is valuable, but mindset matters more.
I’m happy to help you develop the technical and commercial expertise the role requires.
